South Baylo University provides a wide range of student services that include:
• Academic Advising
The Program Director helps guide students in any matter related to study at South Baylo University. From the start of the journey he conducts admission interviews to ensure that we’re the right fit for you. For transfer students, he evaluates and grants transfer credits. Most students are familiar with the help they receive selecting quarterly classes so that they stay on track for graduation and avoid registration penalties. The Program Director determines if a student is making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). He ensures that students take prerequisite courses that prepare them for the Comprehensive Competency Examination (CCE) and determines their eligibility. Finally, if a student is struggling, he helps to get them back on the right course by triggering remediation.
• Clinic Internship Advising
The Clinic Director provides ensures that prospective interns can complete all of their internship course prerequisites. Mandatory attendance in Clinic Orientations is required of interns as they progress through each phase of the internship program.
Understanding various clinical settings is crucial to ensuring the safety of patients. The clinical internship provides the time necessary for students to gain competency in a closely supervised environment. The Director offers her expertise at every step of the process to ensure that interns gain the skills they need to provide a high standard of patient care.
• Financial Advising Service
The Financial Aid Officer helps match eligible students with financial assistance, assembling a package that is tailored to their needs. He conveys his understanding of loan rights and responsibilities to students so that their obligations are met while ensuring that they are making satisfactory academic progress.
Entrance and exit interviews are required for all students receiving financial aid. When applicable, this office also assists students in processing the necessary paperwork for students qualified under the U.S. Code Title 38 (Veteran’s Administration of Educational Benefits).
• General Advising
The Student Services Advisor is happy to provide general advice on non academic matters. She assists students in finding housing that suits their style by providing information. Schedules for public transportation are available so that getting to the University is as easy as possible. She is willing to assist students in filling out applications for personal banking. as well as other general information.
The Quarterly Student Day Event and luncheon gathering for students and administrative staff permits students to interact with the Student Services Advisor in a less formal fashion. The atmosphere created may lead hesitant students to open up and ask for assistance.
Students are encouraged to visit her often. This is true in especial if they have suggestions or feedback for the administration. Upon request, a student may decide to keep their personal identity confidential in the interest of building a better University.
• Admissions Advising
The Director of Admissions can provide prospective students with insight about the admissions process. Candidates may use his expertise to come up with a plan to ensure that they secure needed documentation related to the admissions process.

All incoming students are required to attend the University’s orientation program. During the orientation, students receive important and pertinent information regarding class registration, financial aid, academic policies and regulations, and are introduced to members of the South Baylo University Community.

Due to the individual nature of the practice of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the University does not provide a career placement service. However, the Student Services Advisor posts career opportunities on the bulletin boards and the University’s website, and assists students with resume writing and professional development.
Currently enrolled students are encouraged to leverage the South Baylo University alumni network. The Student Services Advisor is happy to set up networking opportunities between students and Oriental Medicine practitioners and University alumni.

The tutoring services is an integral part of academic life and is a function
of South Baylo University. SBU students are permitted to receive
on-campus tutoring by designated and approved student tutors, faculty
members or other instructional personnel. All tutoring functions
will be coordinated by the Office of Student Services and Academic
Offices, and provided to requesting students at no charge.

The University does not provide student housing. However, there are many private apartments and condominiums near campus. Annandale continues to be an affordable D.C. suburb. The Student Services Advisor helps students find appropriate housing.
Like the Su Wen, timing matters. Moving in Late Fall and Winter lets students find low cost alternatives at a leisurely pace compared to the peak Summer season.

The University is committed to accommodating students with physical and learning disabilities. Accommodations and other support services are managed by the Program Director and Student Services Advisor, and are tailored to meet the needs of each individual student. An individual needing assistance should contact the Program Director and Student Services Advisor. It is recommended that new students with special needs contact the office early in their first term to arrange for support services.

Student Body Associations
All students are encouraged to participate in the South Baylo University Student Body Associations. These organizations are recognized by the faculty and administration and is important to the student’s education and cultural experience. Through participation in these associations students can provide information that assist the faculty and administration. This information strengthens and endorses continual improvement of the student’s academic and college life.

Refusal of Service
The University may refuse any type of service to students who have not paid tuition and/or fees. The University may also refuse re-admission to a student who has left the University with outstanding financial obligations.
