FULL-TIME STUDENTS

Students carrying an average academic load of twelve (12) units or more per quarter are classified as full-time students. This academic load is used to determine Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and Time Limitation for Graduation regulations and related Federal regulations. As such, South Baylo University does not enroll part-time students.

On the other hand, a student may request and qualify for an accelerated academic track but, the student cannot complete the Master's program less than twelve (12) quarters as mandated by the California Acupuncture Board. The minimal twelve quarters of study can include transfer credits, if any.

MATRICULATION AT THE UNIVERSITY

South Baylo University admits new students every quarter. All students must register for units each quarter to comply with satisfactory academic progress (SAP) requirements. All students are strongly encouraged to meet with their Program Student Advisor or academic staff at least once each quarter during registration periods for academic advising and determination of Satisfactory Academic Progress.

All enrolled students are required to complete all General Education by the 4th quarter of enrollment in the Master's degree program.

OFFICIAL REGISTRATION FOR CLASSES

Students are required to register for the following quarter classes during the four (4) weeks of the registration period (week 7 to week 10) and to pay a Registration Fee of $55.00, tuition and related fees.

Registration by computer alone, without paying the Registration Fee, does not constitute official registration for continuing classes. Students are required to register for a minimal of 12 quarter units to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and time limitation for graduation.

On the other hand, in compliance with State Regulation, a student cannot enroll in more than thirty-five (35) hours of instruction (including Internship/Clerkship/Residency hours) per week during any giving quarter.

LATE REGISTRATION

Continuing students must register for the following quarter and pay the Registration Fee ($55.00) during the registration period (week 7 to week 10 of each quarter) to avoid late registration and paying a late Registration Fee of $150.00.

Continuing students who have not officially registered by the last day of the registration period may be allowed to enroll in courses during the first two weeks of the quarter after completing late registration and paying a $150.00 late Registration Fee.

Students cannot register later than the Wednesday of the second week of the quarter (last day for Add/Drop). No enrollment or addition of any course is permitted if a student has missed more than two (2) weeks of classes.

A late add fee of $15.00 will be charged if a student adds a class after the last day of Add/Drop. Students returning from a Leave of Absence (LOA) or from withdrawal status are allowed up to the Wednesday of the 2nd week of the quarter to enroll in classes without paying the late Registration Fee.

ENROLLMENT AGREEMENT

The enrollment contract or agreement signed by a prospective student will not become valid and binding until the student makes an initial visit to the University or attends the first class of instruction.

The University encourages all prospective students to visit the campus (Anaheim or LA Extention Site) prior to the first day of class for a tour of campus facilities, to ask questions about the program and to obtain other information that may affect the student's decision to enroll.

ADD AND DROP

By Wednesday of the 2nd week of each quarter, no more than two courses may be dropped. An equivalent number of courses may be added without penalty (financial or attendance).

At the completion of Add/Drop the students must comply with the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) regulation as required by SBU regulation and Federal law. No other course additions will be allowed after the 2nd week except under emergency circumstances that would apply in cases of incomplete grades. Improper dropping of classes by students receiving financial aid can jeopardize their eligibility status and loan deferment with lending institutions.

A late add fee of $15.00 will be charged if a student adds a class after the last day for Add/Drop provided that the students did not miss more than two(2) weeks of class attendance. If a student drops a class after the second week of classes, a prorated amount will be reimbursed to the student. Students cannot drop any classes from the 8th week of quarter.

AUDITING CLASSES

An applicant wishing to audit one or more courses must complete an audit application form and comply with all admission requirements. In lieu of a standard application, he/she must submit the Audit Application Form. For upper level courses, the applicant must demonstrate sufficient knowledge to benefit from auditing the course.

A limited number of students with audit status are allowed in any given class. In addition to the application fee, the student is required to pay 50% of the course tuition, a registration fee and other fees, if applicable. Enrolled students may petition to audit a class already taken earlier at the University by paying a $50.00 auditing fee.

Audit classes are recorded in University official transcripts as "AUD", listed as a grade but not incorporated in GPA. Audited classes are not covered by financial aid.
