Graduation Requirements for MSAOM Program

The Master of Science degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is conferred upon those who have fulfilled the following requirements:

1. Completed all courses in the curriculum (or their equivalent) and have completed the minimum hours of attendance at South Baylo University
   
   
2. Completed at least four (4) academic years (or 12 quarters) of full-time resident study as a matriculated student in an accredited and/or A California Acupuncture Board approved College or University studying Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine with the last 45 quarter units and clinic internship hours taken as a resident at the University.
   
   
3. Achieved at least 2.3 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) from all courses taken at the University
   
   
4. Fulfilled the qualitative and quantitative clinic internship requirements and successfully passed the Comprehensive Competency Examination II (CCE II)
   
   
5. Be cleared of all indebtedness and other obligations to the University prior to graduation
   
   
6. Attend an exit interview conducted by the Financial Aid Office, if applicable.
   
   
7. Be recommended for graduation by faculty, Academic Dean and President of the University
   
   
8. Be of minimal age 21 and exhibit good moral character.

Graduation Requirements for Doctorate Program

The Doctoral Degree program is conferred upon those who have fulfilled the following requirements:

1. Complete all courses and clinical clerkship hours in the curriculum (or their equivalent) and have completed the minimum hours of attendance at South Baylo University.
   
   
2. Completed at least one (1) academic year (or 3 quarters) of full-time resident study as a matriculated student at SBU, completing 40 didactic units and 200 hours of clerkship at SBU clinic(s).
   
   
3. Achieve at least 3.0 cumulative grade point average (CGPA) from all courses taken at the University.
   
   
4. Fulfill the qualitative and quantitative clinical clerkship requirements.
   
   
5. Be cleared of all indebtedness and other obligations to the University prior to graduation.
   
   
6. Be recommended for graduation by Doctoral Faculty, Doctoral Academic Dean, and President of the University.
   
   

Additionally, graduates are expected to attend public commencement exercises. Students may be excused upon written request and approval by the Doctoral Academic Dean.
