CODE CM 562
TITLE Clinical Medicine C
UNIT 4
Prerequisite:Upper Division Standing
This is the last of the three-part Clinical Medicine course that involves developing patient-practitioner rapport, communication skills, and clinical manners, including gender and multicultural sensitivity. Also covered in this course is analyzing diagnostic information to form a clinical impression from which a working diagnosis is derived, including OM diagnosis, consistent with the World Health Organization's International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9). Procedures and the necessity of ordering adjunct diagnostic tests (laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and radiological examinations), and the awareness of at-risk populations, including gender, age, and disease-specific patients will also be included. Clinical Medicine A, B, C courses do not have to be taken in sequence.
