Prerequisite: CI 615
Interns will be given the opportunity to demonstrate greater responsibility in practice management of patients under minimal supervision by Clinic Supervisors. Each intern must demonstrate clinical ability and competency by developing a treatment protocol that includes western impression(s), OM diagnosis and a treatment protocol that includes needling therapy, herbal prescriptions and/or other OM modalities that are applicable to the patient's condition(s). The intern must be capable of selecting an OM treatment approach that is most effective to treat the patient's condition(s). Under minimal supervision by a Clinical Supervisor, the intern may need to consult at times with the Clinical Supervisor for input and consultation in difficult or complex cases. The intern is required to practice as independent practitioner under the auspices of the SBU Clinic. All previously learned clinical skills and experience will apply. |
