A treatment approach is recommended for concurrence by the Clinical Supervisor after which acupuncture or other modalities are employed to treat the condition. The Clinical Supervisor is not required to observe the actual diagnosis or treatment, but must be in close proximity of the location where the patient is being treated. The student is required to consult with the assigned Clinical Supervisor before and after each treatment. Further laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging also may be recommended as well as possible referral to another medical specialist by the student or Clinical Supervisor.
